Damascus, SANA – The Central Bank of Syria (CBS) set on Thursday the exchange rate of the USD against the Syrian Pound (SYP) at 468.92 for banks, 467.68 for exchange companies and 485 for transfers.
The bank set the price of the EUR against the SYP at 518.50 for banks, 517.14 for exchange companies and 537.87 for transfers.
The CBS said in a statement that it is closely monitoring the situation of supply and demand in the foreign exchange market and will take all necessary measures to promote stability in the exchange rate, which will reflect positively on the prices of goods.
It pointed out that it will continue implementing the intervention plan in the foreign exchange market, quoting sources in the market as saying that a state of calm prevails in the foreign exchange market and that the exchange prices are to a large extent close to the official prices set by the CBS.
