Cabinet discusses economic and services issues

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet discussed in its weekly session on Tuesday a number of economic and services issues, including how much the decrease in foreign exchange rate has reflected on the price of goods in the local market and the situation of drinking water in a number of provinces.

Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi pointed out to the measures taken by the policy-making committee, the Monetary and Credit Council and the Central Bank of Syria (CBS) which have contributed to improving the situation of the Syrian pound.

He also referred to the measures taken by the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Ministry to control the prices of goods and activate the role of positive intervention establishments which have contributed a lot to the recent drop in prices.
