Antonov: US leaves Russia’s proposals on cooperation regarding situation in Syria unanswered

Singapore, SANA – Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said Sunday that USA leaves Russian proposals on joint cooperation regarding the crisis in Syria unanswered.

“Russia and the United States could have done more to settle the situation in Syria and there is scope to do more in combating international terrorism in other regions. There are many areas, where we could undertake joint efforts. Yet, our proposals on cooperation remain unanswered,” Russian Sputnik News Agency quoted Antonov as saying at the “IISS Shangri-La Dialogue” Asia Security Summit in Singapore.

He considered that “The situation in Syria is still complicated and Syrian government forces need more assistance.”

Russia time and again called for forming a unified international front for counterterrorism yet the USA refused every time to coordinate and cooperate with Moscow in combating terrorism in Syria.
