Lattakia, SANA – Terrorist organizations breached the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria seven times in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of breaches to 560 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, the Russian Coordination Center said.
The center, based in Hemeimim airbase, added in a statement on Thursday that all of the breaches took place in Damascus, with Jaish al-Islam terrorists targeting military posts in Douma, Joubar and Zibdeen in the countryside, while neighborhoods of Basatin Abu Jarash and Masaken Barzeh were shelled.
The cessation of hostilities agreement, which does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations, is still holding in most Syrian provinces, the center affirmed.
Three new towns in Aleppo and Daraa have recently joined the agreement, putting the total number of cities and towns at 109, according to the center.
The center noted in its statement that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continued targeting Handarat Camp and the towns of Bashkoi, Heilan and al-Zandik and the neighborhoods of Salah Eddin and al-Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo and attacked six other towns in Lattakia.
