Plane carrying 39 tons of aid arrives at Qamishli Airport

Hasaka, SANA – A plane carrying 39 tons of food aid divided into 600 baskets, provided by the World Food Program (WFP), arrived on Tuesday at Qamishli Airport in Hasaka province, as part of the third air bridge.

WFP office director in Qamishli Afra Noah said the air bridge planes will continue arriving at the airport until August 16, providing up to 10,000 shares of food to be distributed among the needy.

The third air bridge consists of 16 planes which will bring around 604 tons of aid. During the first half of 2014, the WFP distributed around 2,200 tons of food baskets, benefiting around 35,000 families in Hasaka province.
