Lattakia, SANA The armed terrorist groups breached the Cessation of Hostilities agreement in Syria 6 times during the past 24 hours, putting the number of breaches since February 27 at 462, according to the Russian Coordination Center.
The agreement, which came into effect on 27 February, does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS terrorist organizations and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.
The Russian center, based in Hmeimim, said in a statement published on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday that it observed 6 breaches of the agreement, 2 in Damascus countryside, 3 in Lattakia countryside and one in Aleppo.
The so called Jaish al-Islam organization shelled a number of residential buildings in the outskirts of Damascus, while a number of towns in Lattakia and Aleppo were targeted by mortars rounds of the so called Ahrar al-Sham, the center added.
In the residential neighborhood of al-Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo, terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra retreated to their former positions after heavy losses were inflicted upon them by the Syrian army which prevented them from controlling the neighborhood, the Center added, re-affirming that the Russian air force did not target positions of the groups which announced joining the Cessation of Hostilities.
On the other hand, the number of towns and villages that joined the Cessation of Hostilities agreement raised to 74, while the number of the armed groups that announced their commitment to the agreement stayed at 52, The Russian center affirmed.
On the humanitarian aid, the center said that the Syrian government delivered 24 tons of food products to Deir Ezzor locals by using parachutes.
