Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said on Monday that Syria is interested in developing partnership with friendly countries during the coming period, on top, Russia.
“Petroleum Ministry has prepared strategic projects in the field of energy, gas and oil in land and sea, and it has presented proposals to companies from friendly countries, mainly Russia,” al-Halqi told Sputnik news agency in an interview.
He added the Syrian and Russian sides are studying the possibility of founding joint banks to facilitate the commercial transactions between the two states.
Al-Halqi affirmed that Damascus has given approval to Russian companies to take part in setting up and developing the oil refineries in Syria in addition to building joint refineries in cooperation with Iran and Venezuela.
He also pointed out to cooperation with Russian companies in the fields of car manufacture and rehabilitating energy stations.
