Russian-provided humanitarian supplies distributed in Daraa

Daraa, SANA – Humanitarian aid sent by the Russian government was delivered to Qarfa town in the southern Daraa province on Saturday.

600 shares of supplies were distributed to needy families and displaced people in the town.

Governor of Daraa Mohammad Khaled al-Hannous thanked the Russian side for its military support against terrorism as well as the humanitarian assistance it offers.

Russian Col. Yuri Fedorovich, who is in charge of organizing humanitarian aid, stressed that the people of Russia and Syria are friends, expressing hope that the reconciliation efforts taking place in Syria will help in ending the crisis there.

This is the second shipment of aid provided by the Russian side, according to Director of Social Affairs Department Nibal al-Hariri.
