Geneva, SANA-Syria’s permanent Envoy to the UN in Geneva Hussam al-Din Ala said on Tuesday that reports of The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic is still characterized by selectivity and politicization and it gives justifications for the terrorist crimes being perpetrated against the Syrian people.
“The two reports issued by the Commission during the last month clearly unveil a biased and selective approach,” Ala said while reciting Syria statement during a session with the Commission on the state in Syria at the 31st of the Humna rights council.
“Reproducing accusations, based on false testimonies and ignoring documented information offered by the Syrian government to the UN organizations and the testimonies of thousands of Syrians who were victims of terrorism come in the service of political agendas for countries involved in the Syrian crisis at the expense of the Syrian human rights,” Ala said.
He expressed Syria’s rejection of the attempts of distortion practiced to defame the image of the Syrian government through putting terrorists equally to a legitimate government that protects its citizens from the crimes of terrorist organizations.
Ala wondered why the Commission’s reports turn a blind eye to the crimes of “Jish al-Islam”, “Jabhat al-Nusra and “Ahrar al-Cham” terrorists who shell residential neighborhoods in Damascus and Aleppo and other Syrian cities with mortars and rockets.
The Syrian diplomat affirmed that the Syrian government is going ahead in delivering the relief aid to all regions in need without any discrimination, as well as the Syrian State has committed to “the cessation of hostilities” agreement.
He called on the commission to adopt fairness and neutrality while preparing its reports.
