Damascus, SANA – The State Ministry for National Reconciliation Affairs called on citizens to pressure extremist terrorist groups into leaving the areas where they have been wreaking havoc.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the State Ministry stressed the need for citizens to convince their children who were misled into bearing arms and talk them into resolving their legal status, thereby thwarting the states that support terrorism and seek to undermine reconciliations.
The statement reaffirmed that the State Ministry will remain open to communication with armed groups and gunmen who want to resolve their legal status, and that it will work to ensure their return.
The State Ministry urged civil and popular activities to coordinate with it or with governors to join the reconciliation project in order to stop bloodshed, stressing that this project seeks to preserve the Syrian social fabric and empower it in preparation for launching the political track in parallel with combating terrorism.
The statement concluded by asserting that the success of previous reconciliations was made possible by the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army and the citizens’ honest will to rebuild Syria and preserve its sovereignty and independent decision-making.
