Beirut, SANA- Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan asserted the necessity of exerting more efforts to establish peace and security in the Middle East, mainly in Syria and Iraq.
Patriarch Younan hailed, during his meeting Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali in Beirut on Monday, the positive role played by Iran to support the rapprochement, understanding and familiarity among various components of the Middle East in addition to its role in defending the unity of the peoples and territories of Iraq and Syria in light of the war in those two countries.
Younan expressed hope to prevail peace and security with the beginning of the new year.
For his part, Fathali affirmed that Iran stands as a strong barrier in face of the acts of the terrorist and Takfiri terrorist groups which wreak havoc, destruction, killing an displacement in the region.
