Patriarch Yazigi: We will spare no effort to defend our land

Damascus, SANA – Prayers and masses were held on Friday in all churches and worship places across the country marking the new year.

At the Mariamite Cathedral of Damascus, a mass was held and his Grace Bishop Efraim Malouli delivered a letter by his Beatitude Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, John X Yazigi in which he talked about the great meanings of this occasion.

In the letter, Yazigi stressed that “We will spare no effort in defending our land, our church bells will continue ringing as long as there is blood in our veins.”

He prayed for peace in Syria, Lebanon, the orient and the world, he also prayed for releasing the two kidnapped archbishops who have been kidnapped by the armed terrorist organizations in Aleppo more than two years ago.
