FAO delegation inspects a livestock project in Sweida

Sweida, SANA – A delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations visited on Tuesday a number of villages targeted by the project of free management of internal parasites of sheep and goats in the southern Sweida province.

The FAO representative in Damascus Eriko Hibi said the project is part of an integrated project carried out by the organization to treat 4 million sheep and goats all over Syria, including 150,000 in Sweida.

She highlighted the importance that the project target minor livestocks raisers who were affected by the repercussions of the crisis going on in the country since 2011.

Assistant Minister of Agriculture Ahmad Qadish said the project of parasite management is the first fruits of the humanitarian help provided by the FAO to Sweida province targeting those affected by the crisis in the country.
