Moscow, SANA- Russian declared Nov. 1 a national day of mourning following the crash of a Russian airliner in Egypt and asserted its participation in the investigations related to the disaster.
The President Vladimir Putin signed on Saturday an Executive Order declaring November 1st a day of mourning following the crash of a Russian airliner in Egypt, according to Russia Today website, saying that all the flags on the governmental buildings will be flown at half- mast and the celebrations will be cancelled.
Meanwhile, Russian aviation authorities asserted Russia’s participation in the investigations operations related to the plane crash.
On Saturday morning, Kogalymavia airline’s Flight 9268 carrying Russian tourists home on board an Airbus A321 aircraft crashed 30 minutes after taking off, and the plane wreckage was spotted in the north of the Sinai Peninsula, some 100 kilometers south of the city of El-Arish.
There were 217 passengers and seven crew members on board, most of them were Russian nationals and according to Russian embassy in Cairo and Egypt’s officials, no one survived.
