Lattakia/Damascus, SANA – 10 civilians were killed and 25 were injured in a terrorist car bomb attack which took place at the outskirts of Lattakia city on Wednesday.
A source at the province told SANA that terrorists detonated a white van loaded with large amounts of explosives that was parked in front of Imad Ali School at al-Hamam Square at the outskirts of Lattakia, claiming the lives of 10 civilians, injuring 25 others, and causing material damage to homes, cars, and private properties.
On Tuesday evening, the authorities managed to dismantle two car bombs that terrorists were trying to sneak into Lattakia city and arrested members of the terrorist group responsible for rigging the two cars with explosives.
Cabinet condemns the bombing
The Cabinet condemned the cowardly act that targeted innocent civilians at the outskirts of Lattakia city.
“These acts will only make the Syrian people, leadership and people more resolved to continue to fight terrorism,” Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi said.
Al-Halaqi hailed the Syrian Army’s efforts to eliminate terrorists and restore security to Syria.
New terrorist mortar attacks kill two university students, injure 20 people in Damascus city
Earlier, two civilians were killed and 15 others were injured by rocket shells fired by terrorist organizations on residential areas in Damascus city on Wednesday.
A Police Command source told SANA that a number of rockets fell in al-Sinaa area, two of them smashed into the building of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, killing two students named Touni Naqqoul and Rakan Sulieman and injuring 15 other people.
A similar attack hit the Faculty yesterday, leaving a female student killed.
Bab Touma and Qaboun
In Bab Touma ancient neighborhood, five civilians were injured in a terrorist attack with mortar shells.
The attack inflicted material damage on Khawla bent al-Azwar park.
Five more people were injured in terrorist mortar attack at Qaboun neighborhood in Damascus in the afternoon.
4 killed in Jaramana
Four civilians were killed and 15 others were injured in terrorist attacks with mortar shells on Jaramana city and Harasta suburb in Damascus Countryside.
A source in the police command said in a statement to SANA reporter that four mortar shells hit residential neighborhoods in Jaramana city, killing four civilians, injuring 15 others and causing material damage to cars and shops.
The shells were fired from Ain Tarma in the Eastern Ghouta where terrorists from the so-called Jaish al-Fateh are based.
Meanwhile, terrorist organizations targeted Harasta suburb at the northern entrance of Damascus with 17 shells, causing material damage to a number of houses and shops without any casualties among civilians, according to a police source.
