Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad issued on Wednesday Law No. 14 for 2015 for internal trade and consumer protection.
The law aims at ensuring the free practice of trade, preventing monopoly, and protecting the rights of consumers, as well as meeting the needs of consumers and ensuring the quality of available products.
The law includes regulations for importation, pricing, quality standards, advertisement, marketing, barcodes, inspection of products, and services provided to consumers, as well as setting the jurisdiction of the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Minister and other officials in relation to relevant fields, and the penalties for breaking articles of the law.
