Australian sports’ delegation arrives in Damascus on one-week visit

Damascus, SANA-An Australian sports delegation arrived in Damascus on Wednesday to have a real image on what is going n in the country.

 Upon their arrival at Damascus international airport, members of the delegation said their visit comes in support of Syria, the land of amity and peace, and to form an image of events in Syria.

 Maher Dabagh, the Honorary Consul of Syria to Australia, said the delegation has crossed wide distances and assumed burdens of travel for long hours to come to Syria and back it against terrorism.

 David Smith, a clergyman and boxer, said the visit has received a great support by a lot of Australians, adding it is an opportunity to stretch sport bridges between the two countries and meet the Syrian national team of boxing to hold training games.

The delegation comprises sports and media figures in addition to Australian activists.
