Damascus, SANA- The Cabinet discussed on Tuesday two draft laws; one on exempting taxpayers from interests, penalties, and fines for income tax, and the other on amending a paragraph from the State’s Employees Basic Law to allow the extension of delegation durations.
Chairing the weekly Cabinet session, Premier Wael al-Halaqi said that the aim of importing wheat is to secure a strategic storage of this material and provide bread bakeries with flour continuously and consistently.
He also refuted the rumors that have been circulating about the quality of the imported wheat, affirming that the imported wheat meets the required quality standards, adding that the government has secured the requirements for purchasing and storing wheat from farmers.
Al-Halaqi instructed the Ministry of Housing to present a study on the situation of co-op housing cooperatives and the problems and obstacles affecting them in order to find appropriate solutions and offer the new idea to help citizens to attain suitable houses in easy ways.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem briefed the Cabinet on the results of his recent visit to Moscow, while Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalwanji said that steps have been taken to overcome shortages in drinking water.
