Sweida, SANA – Sweida Governor Atef al-Naddaf denied on Thursday media reports about the security situation in Sweida city, affirming that the city is living a normal life.
In a statement to SANA reporter, al-Naddaf said that targeting residential neighborhoods in Sweida with mortar shells by terrorist organizations is a vain attempt to disturb life in the province.
On Thursday morning, terrorist organizations had targeted Sweida’a neighborhoods with mortar shells, killing a civilian and injuring three others.
The governor said that the news broadcast by some media outlets which he described as “partners in shedding blood of Syrians” about terrorist organizations controlling al-Tha’la airport are “untrue and baseless”, stressing that “the heroes of Syrian Arab Army and popular defense groups in Sweida are steadfast and have managed to foil terrorists’ attempts to attack the airport.”
Al-Naddaf reiterated that Sweida’s families stand side by side with the Army in the face of terrorism.
