Martyrs’ families organize candle march in Tartous

Tartous, SANA- The Directorate of Culture in Tartous held on Wednesday an activity dubbed “Loyalty to Homeland Day” in which a silent candle march was organized with the participation of 50 military and civilian martyrs’ families.

The march launched from Sheikh Saleh al-Ali statue to the city Cultural Directorate.

“The activity’s importance comes from its coincidence with celebrating the 15th anniversary of passing away President Hafez al-Assad who taught us how to be loyal to the martyrs”, Linda Ibrahim, Head of Cultural Directorate told SANA.

The organizer of the activity, Ya’arub Hassan, pointed out that the march aims at asserting principles of martyrdom, which the late president planted among the Syrians who consider such principles as a base to sacrifice for returning
security to the homeland and rebuilding it.
