Red Crescent launches clinics for treating malnourished children in Hama province

Hama, SANA – The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) branch in Hama launched two specialized clinics for treating children with malnourishment in the cities of Hama and al-Salamiye.

Branch director Fadi Ayyach told SANA’s correspondent that the clinics are staffed with 50 nutrition specialists trained to treat children, receive and evaluate cases, carry out surveys, and detect malnutrition cases early.

Ayyach said the clinics cater to children under 12, providing them with vitamin and mineral supplements, treatment programs, and guidance.

He added that the SARC branch will open a radiology lab in Hama in July, and that they’re currently procuring equipment for it.
