Information Minister, Grand Mufti meet a Russian Duma Council delegation

Damascus, SANA- Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said on Monday that life in Damascus and other Syrian cities is normal and the Syrians are determined to confront war, referring to the struggle and heroism of the army soldiers in Jisr al-Shoughour hospital in Idleb countryside.

The Minister, meeting a Russian delegation of Duma council, affirmed that the Syrian-Russian relation is not limited to a specified time, adding it has helped the Syrians resist terrorism.

He underlined the unity of destiny in fighting “the west, its greed and wars,” saying that Syria is still strong in spite of the economic war and the crimes of terrorist organizations against the Syrian people.

For his part, Member of Russian Duma Council Dmitry Sablin said the aim of the visit is to offer the political, moral and human support to the Syrian government and people, as well as having discussions on combating the media war.

Alexander Yushchenko, another Duma member, considered that international terrorism is a tool by the US which aims to shed more bloods and destroy the nations’ civilization.

The Russian delegation also comprises economic, religious and social figures.

Mufti Hassoun: Russia plays important role in support of Syria

In the same context, Syria’s grand Mufti, Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun said that Russia has played an important role in supporting Syria against the conspiracy and in restoring balance to international relations.Mufti3

Meeting the Russian delegation, the Mufti affirmed that the Syrian people respect the Russian people and its leadership for their stances in support of Syria in the war against terrorism.

Members of the Russian delegation reaffirmed their country’s stance in support of Syria, saying that the Russian people and leadership will always stand by Syria.
