Damascus, SANA. Minister of Economy and External Trade Khodr Orfali said Thursday large amounts of food materials arrived to Lattakia and Tartous Ports, adding the materials will be put into the markets to meet citizens’ needs and ensure stability of prices.
Meeting economic and social activities in Aleppo, Orfali said the government will not abandon its responsibility towards its citizens regarding improving their living conditions and enhancing their steadfastness during the current situation.
He affirmed the government is still committed to fund the basic imports as foods, medicine and initial materials needed for industry.
“We do not accept the prices to rise during Ramadan and we call on all bodies to work as a team to control the markets and prosecute the crisis’ traders,” the Minister said.
For his part, governor of Aleppo Mohammad Wahid Akkad briefed the Minster on the economic and living conditions in Aleppo and difficulties which the citizens of province are suffering due to the acts of the armed terrorist groups.
