First day of second round of inter-Syrian talks ends in Moscow

Moscow, SANA-The first day of the second round of inter-Syrian consultative meeting ended in Moscow which included a meeting among the opposition figures who affirmed that talks concentrated on the agenda.

Ala Arfat, one of the participants, said there were a number of topics proposed by the delegations, but the main one centered on the agenda.

“We agreed on a formula, as proposed by the meeting coordinator, to evaluate the current stage, take steps to build confidence between the government and opposition and outline measures that could be adopted to ease the suffering of the Syrian people,” Arafat said.Moscow

He added the agenda of the talks also concentrated on combating terrorism, discussing the political process and other issues related reconciliations and settlements.

Arafat considered that the absence of “the Coalition” representatives in the second round of talks will not affect their outcomes, affirming that the coalition had no intention to attend neither this meeting nor the first round of talks.

For his part, Samir al-Aita said “Today’s meeting brought together new figures like Hassan Abdul-Azim, Mohammad Habash and  Aref Dalila who exchanged viewpoints on the agenda of the meeting.”

“It was better if all have participated,” he added.
