Damascus, SANA-Dr. Maher al-Sharaa, Acting Minister of Health, held discussions with the directors of university hospitals in Damascus regarding the current state of the hospitals across all aspects and the development of mechanisms to enhance healthcare services.
During a meeting held Tuesday at the Ministry’s headquarters, hospital directors reviewed the services provided to patients, administrative and technical operations, and the challenges and difficulties facing hospital operations.
Dr. al-Sharaa explained that, based on recent hospital inspection tours, a positive shift and improvement in the level of healthcare services have been observed.
He emphasized the importance of reducing the number of cesarean births to prevent reproductive health issues and the need to explore the possibility of establishing a specialized committee for obstetric surgery in the near future.
Dr. al-Sharaa also highlighted ongoing studies concerning incentives for healthcare staff, which will be determined based on achievement and productivity. Additionally, he addressed efforts to ensure the availability of oxygen and anesthesia equipment.
