Minister al-Shaibani: Syrians showed national sense of solidarity and protection of national interests

Damascus-SANA- Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani stressed that the Syrian people showed unique awareness and a national sense of solidarity and protection of national interests and standing behind their leadership, and that what happened yesterday cannot succeed in a country whose army is the people themselves.

The Foreign Minister said in tweets via the X platform: We have been and still are facing since the first day a hidden and declared war to break the will of the Syrian people and defeat them in the field of security, politics and governance by spreading chaos on the one hand, and attempts at political closure abroad on the other hand.

However, we have broken these attempts many times and restored Syria to its position in the region and the world, minister al-Shaibani added.

The Foreign Minister went on to say “Since the first day of the fall of the Assad regime, the new Syrian leadership represented by President Ahmad al-Sharaa has taken wise steps to enhance security, stability and civil peace.”

He added that the Syrian people have restored control of their country after more than fifty years of exclusion and tyranny, and every Syrian family has sacrificed everything they have for this moment, and what happened yesterday cannot succeed in a country whose army is the people themselves.

While I reassure our people that Syria has today passed the test once again and is making its way towards the future with strength and steadfastness, I thank the brotherly and friendly countries that expressed their supportive position towards the Syrian government in its confrontation with the remnants of al-Assad, minister al-Shaibani concluded saying “Mercy to the martyrs of our security and military institutions, a speedy recovery to the wounded, and punishment and accountability for those involved in this high treason.
