The UNICEF executive director, Catherine Russell, stressed in a statement posted on X website the necessity to conduct an immediate investigation into the circumstances of the Israeli targeting the employee.

“This weekend witnessed a bloody escalation in the attacks, north of the Strip, as reports said that more than 50 children were martyred in Jabalia over the past two days,” Russell said.

Russell warned all residents of northern Gaza, especially children, are at imminent risk of death due to disease, starvation and continued bombardment.

The director of UNICEF in northern Gaza was injured as a bomb was dropped from a quadcopter on a vehicle affiliated with the organization in Jabalia.

The occupation forces continue to escalate their barbaric attacks on the Strip, especially Jabalia and its camp, as they continue to shell civilians, blow up their homes.
