Baghdad, SANA- First Deputy of Iraqi President Nouri al-Maliki affirmed on Monday that the region witnesses big challenges and all should unify efforts to face them.
Al-Maliki, meeting Syria’s Ambassador in Baghdad Sadam Jadaan al-Dandah, said the aim of destabilizing situation in Iraq, Syria and other countries is having them “weak and incapable of facing difficulties.”
He added the Iraqi security forces and popular groups have achieved great victories in their war against gangs of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization.
For his part, Ambassador Dandah affirmed Syria’s commitment to boost bilateral relations and unify regional and international efforts to face ISIS danger.
“Expanding cooperation and coordination between Syria and Iraq became a necessity to face gangs of death and terrorism which seek to obstruct progress and kill life in Syria and Iraq,” al-Dandah told SANA correspondent in Baghdad.
He was confident the Syrian army and Iraqi forces will defeat terrorism and restore security and stability to all cities in both countries.
