798 more food packages distributed in Yarmouk Camp, Damascus

Damascus, SANA – More relief supplies were distributed on Friday and Saturday in the terrorists-besieged Yarmouk Camp neighborhood in southern Damascus.

The distribution was carried out by the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) with full support and help of the Syrian Government.

Director General of GAPAR Ali Mustafa told SANA that the 798 food packages were distributed in Palestine Street near Yarmouk Municipality across Nisreen Street in al-Tadamon neighborhood.

The total food packages which were distributed since aid distribution was resumed on March 5th, 2015 reached 5852 packages, and 61882 ones since January 30th 2014 in addition to 11618 hygiene packages, Mustafa added.

Mustafa pointed out that the medical center affiliated to the UNRWA and the Palestinian Red Crescent continues offering medicine, noting that 52 patients were evacuated and admitted to Damascus hospital.

The number of people evacuated for treatment since January 2014 has amounted to 4856.
