Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Hussein Arnous inspected on Saturday, the maintenance and rehabilitation work at the main football stadium, training grounds and tennis courts at Al-Fayha Sports City in Damascus.
These rehabilitation operations aim to make Syrian stadiums ready to host international matches, Arnous stated to reporters, pointing out the importance of exerted efforts made by the General Sports Federation in rehabilitating sports facilities.
Head of the Syrian Sports’ Federation, Firas Maala, said that the rehabilitation of Al-Fayha Stadium is part of the plan to lift the ban on our stadiums because the Syrian public has the right to support their national team.
He added that the committee assigned by FIFA will be present in Syria to see what has been accomplished in Al-Fayha Stadium, noting at the same time the government support for the sports sector in all aspects.
