New York, SANA- Syria’s permanent envoy to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari “was shocked” over a report submitted by UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Robert Serry when he ignored to mention the status in the occupied Syrian Golan and the remaining occupied parts in South Lebanon by the Israeli occupation.
“No meaning for Serry’s ignoring the main part of his authority as a UN coordinator through offering justifications for the Israeli continued occupation of the Arab lands, yet he tries to justify his failure not to achieve anything during 7 years of his authority,” al-Jaafari said in a press statement following the brief submitted to members of the Security Council under a topic titled “the status in the Middle East.”
He added that after 7 years, Serry has acknowledged Syria’s insistence on saying that his task would give nothing as long as the dominating members at Security Council prevent it from taking any serious procedures to apply resolutions relevant to the occupied Syrian Golan and the Arab-Israeli conflict.
“During the last two years, Serry said nothing about the consolidated cooperation between the Israeli government and terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra in the occupied Syrian Golan although UN Chief has stressed that Israelis help al-Nusra terrorists in Golan,” al-Jaafari said.
On the Syrian objections to Serry’s report and the reason behind his ignorance Golan and the Israeli occupation, al-Jaafari said Serry, as UN coordinator, showed today a lot of defects and gaps in his mentality, as he recognizes in front of the council that after 7 years he has achieved nothing and said nothing about Israel’s role in making the peace process a failure.
“Unfortunately, Serry mentioned nothing , but, the Palestinian cause which is considered the core, turning a blind eye to other tracks of the peace process, mainly the occupied Syrian Golan and the occupied Lebanese lands,” Jaafari added.
