Spain joins South Africa’s lawsuit against Israel occupation in the ICJ

Madrid, SANA- Spain has made a formal requested to join South Africa‘s case against the Israel occupation entity before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The Spanish foreign ministry said in a statement quoted by Wafa agency that ‘’ it intervened in the case in accordance with the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide war ,and by resorting to Article 63 of the Statute of the Court.

The aim of this step is to contribute to stopping the genocide war that the Palestinian people are being subjected in Gaza strip, as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression for the 267th day’’ the statement stressed.

South Africa’s lawsuit against “Israel”, which accuses it of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, has received Arab and international support and endorsement.

Spain announced last month the official recognition of the State of Palestine.
