President al-Assad performs Eid al-Adha prayer at al-Rawda mosque in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday performed Eid al-Adha prayer at al-Rawda mosque in Damascus.

Minister of Endowments, Mohammad Abdil-Sattar al-Sayyed, a number of senior officials, Islamic scholars and citizens performed the prayer, led by Sheikh Mohammad Sahrif al-Sawwaf.

“Eid al-Adha is a symbol for all kinds of sacrifice, patience and belief,” Imam al-Sawwaf said in the Eid sermon, adding that prophets Ebrahem and Mohammad were the supreme example in the face of afflictions.

Sheikh Sawwaf prayed God to keep Syria, its people, army and the President, hoping victory and prosperity would prevail all over the country.

President al-Assad exchanged congratulations on the Eid occasion with the citizens following the prayer.
