Mikdad, UNDP discuss means to boot cooperation in early recovery projects

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, met UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Crisis Bureau, Ms. Shoko Noda and an accompanying delegation, with talks dealing with the need to enhance cooperation between the Syrian government and the United Nations’ Development Program (UNDP), especially in the field of early recovery projects and support for resilience.

Mikdad pointed out to UN delegation the humanitarian and living conditions in Syria, which were caused by the terrorist war and the unilateral, illegal and inhuman economic measures imposed by some countries on the Syrian people and the continued looting of their resources.

Mikdad stressed the positive role played by UNDP to carry out development projects that have a positive impact on the Syrian people.

In turn, Noda affirmed the program’s commitment to work and coordinate with different Syrian national bodies to support development in Syria in several fields, as well as the importance of direct access of the development situation in the country and the continuation of ongoing cooperation between the two sides to achieve the desired results.
