Aleppo governor discusses with WHO representative health situation in the province

Aleppo, SANA- Aleppo Governor Mohammad Marwan Olabi reiterated the governorate’s readiness to offer all support and provide all facilitations needed to help international organizations perform their tasks in the province, hailing the efforts of The World Health Organization (WHO) and other international organizations to deliver aid to Syrians affected by current crisis.

This came during his meeting with resident representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Syria Elizabeth Hoff, with the two sides discussing the health and humanitarian situation in the province and joint cooperation and coordination prospects.

Olabi gave a review of the damage that the health sector in the province sustained due to persistent attacks by armed terrorist organizations, affirming full commitment to provide all medical services to citizens and vowing continued vaccination campaigns to immunize children against dangerous diseases.

For her part, Hoff pointed out that the support of WHO to Aleppo will not be confined to medicines but will include medical equipment and their spare parts to enable medical and technical cadres to provide services to citizens.
She vowed continued cooperation with Aleppo governorate to meet the health sector’s requirements, commending the huge efforts exerted by the governorate and its medical institutions to provide top-quality services for citizens.
