Damascus, SANA-President Bashar al-Assad, Secretary-General of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, chaired a meeting of the new central leadership of the party on Wednesday during which he discussed with its members the priorities of the next stage of the party, as the organizational issue comes at the forefront because it would be reflected on the institution of al- Baath Party and its various structures, and it would affect the development of its internal system, and the mechanisms of engaging the party bases in the proposals and decision-making.
President al-Assad stressed that al- Baath Party is an institution as a whole, not an individual, and it proposes the necessity of the correct positioning, as being a ruling party on the one hand to cooperate with the government and the executive bodies on the other , to affirm a priority that is needed more than ever before, which is setting policies and strategies.
The president added that dialogue is one of the most important mechanisms that contributes to enhancing the party’s presence in the intellectual and cultural movement in society.
President al-Assad spoke about the importance of the party’s precise financial system in order to preserve and develop the party’s resources on the one hand, and to follow its expenses on the other, and impose accurate annual financial budgets. Talks during the meeting stressed the need to evaluate the party’s recent electoral experience, and develop the work mechanism of the Higher Elections’ Committee.
