Syria and Pakistan to boost Education cooperation

Islam Abad, SANA- A delegation from the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research discussed on Sunday the possibility of enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences between Syria and Pakistan and providing scholarships and expertise between the two sides.

The delegation, headed by Assistant Minister of Education Rami Al-Dilli, briefed Pakistani Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and a number of specialist advisors on the education and examination systems and the possibility of developing them.

Members of the delegation also met a number of officials and experts from research institutions and business incubators specialized in information technology and educational technologies in Karachi.

The two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation in the field of employing advanced technologies in education, in addition meeting with the Technical and Vocational Training Authority, which expressed its willingness to transfer expertise and implement training courses through the Center of Syrian-Pakistani information technology.

During the visit, a meeting was also held with the Higher Education Authority in Pakistan to discuss the horizon of joint cooperation and exchange of experiences in higher education, research and joint scientific publishing for researchers, including professors and postgraduate students.

During its visit to the University of the Punjab in the city of Lahore, which is one of the oldest universities in Pakistan, the delegation presented the possibility of cooperation between the Syrian universities and the aforementioned university in specializations of distinction and priority, in addition to visiting the university library and reviewing the manuscripts it contains of scholars of the Arab-Islamic civilization in various sciences.

The visit, which comes within the framework of educational, scientific and cultural cooperation between Syria and Pakistan, began on the 2nd of May and concludes on the 9th of May.
