President al-Assad receives Bahrain’s Foreign Minister: the need for joint action to achieve stability in the region

Damascus,SANA-President Bashar al-Assad received on Sunday, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in various fields to serve the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples were discussed, in addition to the preparations and efforts being made by the Kingdom of Bahrain to make the Arab summit scheduled for next month a success.

The most important topics on the agenda of the summit were also reviewed in order to serve the common Arab interests and unite efforts to meet the current challenges.

President al-Assad stressed the strengthening of Arab solidarity and joint action to achieve stability in the region in light of the events and developments in the world.

Earlier, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad received Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, stressing the need to strengthen them for the common interest of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

They also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the 33rd summit of the league of Arab states, where they stressed the need for the summit to support the process of Joint Arab action and enhance Arab capabilities in facing various challenges.

On March 26, President al-Assad received a written letter from His Majesty king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, which included an official invitation to participate in the meeting of the 33rd regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States on the level of summit, which will be held on May 16 in the Bahraini capital of Manama.
