Syrian community in Russia commemorates Evacuation Day

Moscow, SANA- Syrian Embassy in Moscow, the Syrian Arab Community Association, the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students commemorated Sunday the Evacuation Day during a celebration at the chancery in Moscow that talked about the meanings of this occasion.

The Syrian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Bashar Al-Jaafari, stressed in a speech during the celebration that independence was a military and political achievement that did not allow the French colonizers to obtain any achievement in exchange for withdrawal, explaining that the price of this independence is the struggle of the Syrian people, who completely expelled the occupation forces from their lands without making any concessions.

Al-Jaafari added that Throughout the path of our struggle against the colonialists, the former Soviet Union and then the Russian Federation were the best friend and ally of Syria, and there were well-established cooperation stations between the two countries on the path of friendship in all political, military, economic, cultural and combating terrorism fields.

Al-Jaafari has underscored that bilateral relations have been strengthed during the leadership of Presidents Bashar al-Assad and Vladimir Putin, especially in facing the serious challenges to the two countries.

In turn, Palestinian Ambassador in Moscow, Abdel Hafeez Nofal, congratulated the Syrian leadership and people, stressing that Syria was a pivotal supportive situation in helping Palestine and will remain so forever.

For his part, head of Russian-Syrian Foundation “Russar” Oleg Fomin stressed that Syria is the beating heart of Arabism and it has always supported the struggle of Palestinians, and at the same time, it continues war against international terrorism supported by the West, led by the US.
