Syrian-Iraqi talks on situation of Syrian workforce in Iraq

Baghdad, SANA- Syria and Iraq have discussed bolstering relations binding the two brotherly peoples.

That came during a meeting that brought together Iraqi Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Jassim Al-Asadi and Syria’s Ambassador in Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah.

“Minister Al-Asadi has affirmed Iraq’s support for Syria in restoring its Arab and regional role, in addition to restoring security and stability to all its regions”, Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Baghdad.

The statement underscored the necessity of regulating the situation of Syrian workforce in accordance with the laws and Iraqi labor market.

In turn, Ambassador al-Dandah underlined in a statement to SANA the importance of brotherly relations binding the two countries, expressing keenness to confront common challenges which requires intensifying bilateral cooperation and uplifting it to the level that meets the ambitions of the two brotherly peoples.

Al-Dandah went on saying that the meeting discussed the situation of the Syrian community in Iraq, and the necessity of resolving the problems facing them there, noting that Syrian community plays an important and major role in various fields.

He added that the meeting also highlighted the necessity of providing facilitations to Syrians coming to work, and ensuring approvals and entry visas in application of the principle of reciprocity.
