Syria participates in 44th meeting of Arab Customs’ Directors

Cairo, SANA- With the participation of Syria, the work of the 44th meeting of general directors of customs in Arab countries, organized by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, kicked off in Cairo today.

Syria is represented in the two-day meeting by the Director of General Customs, Majed Omran.

The participants discussed a number of topics, including following up on the implementation of decisions on customs issues issued by The Economic and Social Council of the Arab League, along with the reports and recommendations of the Customs Procedures and Information Committee.

The meeting also addresses the work of the Technical Committee for Arab Customs Cooperation and its positive impact on increasing intra-Arab trade exchange, the amended agreement on regulating transit between Arab countries, in addition to discussing other customs topics.
