Participants in the APA meeting of the Palestine Committee call for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

Tehran, SANA-Participants in the First meeting of Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s Palestine committee (APA) , which was held Wednesday in the Iranian capital, Tehran, with the participation of Syria, called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza Strip and opening of new corridors for humanitarian aid to its people and all other parts of the occupied Palestinian territories.

In the final statement, the participants condemned the Zionist aggression and the direct US partnership in the genocidal war committed by Israeli occupation entity against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.

The statement called for a boycott of the products and goods of the Israeli occupation, stressing the need to adhere to the Geneva Conventions related to the protection of Palestinian civilians, calling for the release of all Palestinian detainees and prisoners held by the occupying entity.

It called on all regional and international organizations and institutions concerned with the protection of children and women to punish “Israel” and its officials for the crimes they commit against Palestinian civilians and to provide and facilitate all forms of diplomatic, political, material, relief, medical and educational support for the State of Palestine and its people.

The statement warned of the evil actions carried out by the entity and their dangerous consequences for global peace and security, stressing the necessity of isolating it and expelling the Zionist Knesset from the Inter-Parliamentary Union and its subsidiary bodies.

It reiterated strong support for the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, support for full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations, rejecting all schemes for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.

The statement pointed out the need to support the establishment of a special fund to provide the Palestinian people with the necessary financial assistance to rebuild what was destroyed by the Zionist war machine, and to provide support to Palestinian health institutions.

It called for confronting the operations of Judaization and raids on Islamic and Christian religious places and recalling UN Resolution No. 3379.
