Makhlouf discusses with representative of UNFPA mechanisms of joint cooperation

Damascus ,SANA- Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, discussed with Muriel Mafico, the new resident representative of The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)in Syria. , and her accompanying delegation the mechanisms for joint work with the Fund.

The both sides also discussed coordination for the success of existing projects, and creating opportunities to implement new projects, particularly those related to supporting livelihoods and the possibility of carrying out projects to support women and youths in earthquake-affected areas.

“The report of the environment condition in Syria for the period 2010-2021 was presented, could open horizons for cooperation in the field of the environment, confronting climate change, and coordination with all international bodies and organizations, including the UNPF, as it is considered a guiding matrix for important projects that can be cooperated with it,” Makhlouf noted.

Mavico, in her turn, expressed her thanks for the support provided to the Fund in Syria , noting the importance of the facilities provided by the Ministry to transport materials, supplies and equipment and ensure their delivery to beneficiaries in local communities.
