Damascus, SANA-The 9th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum (UNFCCC) concluded its activities with the participation of Syria and forty Arab and foreign countries.
In a speech at the plenary session of culture ministers, Minister of Culture, Labana Mashwah, stressed the importance of cultural sovereignty in the face of all forms of domination, marginalization and abolition, and called on intellectuals and participants to unite in confronting the machine of crime affecting the Palestinian people.
In a special session, Director General of Antiquities and Museums, Mohammad Nazir Awad, gave a presentation on the reality of Syrian museums and the work carried out by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums for restoration, documentation, and recovery of contraband.
A documentary film was screened about the restoration work of the Arch of Triumph in Palmyra with the participation of Russian experts, and the screening took place in the Grand Amphitheater at the St. Petersburg Museum in front of thousands of attendees.
On the other hand, Minister of Culture met with her Russian counterpart, Olga Lyubimova, and discussed with her the details of implementing the terms of the cooperation agreement signed between them.
Minister of Culture also met Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour, head of the Organization for Culture and Islamic Relations in Iran, and they discussed aspects of cultural cooperation in confronting the crimes of the Zionists.
