Iravani: “Israel’s” decision to impose its laws on occupied Syrian Golan is null and void

New York, SANA- Iran considers Syrian Golan to be an inseparable part of Syria, Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Amir Saeed Iravani, has affirmed.

Iravani’s remarks came in a meeting of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories.

“Iran strongly condemns Israeli attacks on Syria, which have led to the martyrdom and injury of Syrian citizens, as well as the destruction of its infrastructure.” Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Iravani as saying.

“As stated in the relevant Security Council resolutions, Israel’s decision to impose its laws, jurisdiction and sovereignty on occupied Syrian Golan is null and void and has no international legal effects,” the Iranian diplomat added.

“The Permanent Representative of Syria to the UN has repeatedly expressed his strong opposition to the continued illegal presence of US forces in Syrian territory, describing it as a clear violation of international laws and a clear disregard for Syrian national and regional sovereignty, unity and political independence.” Iravani noted in a letter to the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, about the presence of U.S military forces on Syrian territory.

In a related context, Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN affirmed the continued support provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran to Palestinian people in their struggle against the occupation and their right to self-determination.
