Syria’s Al Wahda wins against Lebanon’s Salam Zgharta in AFC Cup group stage match

Beirut, SANA – Syria’s Al Wahda football club on Tuesday won against Lebanon’s Salam Zgharta 2-0 as part of the Group A matches of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.

The two goals were scored by Abdelkader Dekkeh at the 45 minutes mark and Mohammad Hamadko at the 88 minutes mark.

With this win, Al Wahda improved its chances of qualifying for the next stage in the AFC Cup, as it had lost its first match in the group stage against Oman’s Al Nahda, and now Al Wahda is tied with Al Nahda and Jordan’s Al Wehdat with 3 points each.

Also in the AFC Cup, Syria’s Al Jaish club is due to face Lebanon’s Nejmeh club in the Group D matches on Wednesday. Al Jaish managed to defeat Bahrain’s Riffa in its first match of the group stage, securing 3 points.
