Arnous , al-Saadawi discuss development of bilateral cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, met with the Iraqi Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting focused on developing cooperation in the fields of land transport, rail linkages, transit, and the exchange of goods in a way that achieves the common interest of the two brotherly peoples and countries, and mechanisms for following up the implementation of the understandings reached to develop bilateral relations in various fields during the recent visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to Syria and his meeting with Mr. President Bashar al-Assad.

Arnous stressed the importance of investing geographical proximity and historical relations that bring together the peoples of the two countries to enhance joint cooperation in the transport, energy and trade exchange sectors, and to establish investment partnerships between the business sectors in Syria and Iraq for the benefit of both countries.

For his part, the Iraqi Minister of Transport stressed his country’s readiness to develop cooperation with Syria, especially in the field of land and rail transport, and its investment in the exchange of goods and products between the two countries’ markets, and the need to improve the situation of border crossings.
