President Raisi: Need for withdrawal of illegitimate foreign powers from Syria

Tehran, SANA-President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, described as important the relations between Syria and Iran and the need for developing them in all domains.

President Raisi received Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad and the accompanying delegation.

The Iranian President appreciated Syria’s resilience in the face of all difficulties and conspiracies hatched against it.

“Syria is going ahead on the road of progress and development,” the President said, calling for the withdrawal of all illegitimate foreign powers from Syria in order to restore its sovereignty on all its territory.

He affirmed the necessity of a full implementation to the agreements agreed upon during his visit to Syria and meeting with President Bashar al-Assad.

Mikdad, for his part, conveyed President Bashar al-Assad’s greetings to President Raisi and the Iranian leadership, briefing him on the latest political developments in Syria and the region.

“The Syrian and Iranian leaderships have a genuine Will to gain more achievements in the interests of both countries and peoples,” Mikdad said.

The Syrian Minister referred to the economic sanctions imposed on Syria and Iran, saying these sanctions contradict the international humanitarian law and cause catastrophes to the life of people, particularly women and children.
