Syrian-Iranian talks on developing cooperation in agricultural, electricity and investment fields

Tehran, SANA- The Syrian delegation currently visiting Tehran resumed its meetings to follow-up the outcomes of the memos of understanding and agreements that were signed between the two countries during the visit of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Syria recently.

Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, head of the Syrian delegation Dr. Mohammad Samer al-Khalil held a meeting with Iranian Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Ali Nikbakht in which they discussed means of developing exchange of agricultural production and cooperation to establish some projects that contribute to improving productivity of agricultural sector in Syria.

Nikbakht reviewed the possibility of benefiting from the outcomes of the researches that were conducted by the scientific institutions affiliated to his ministry in developing the Syrian agricultural sector.

Al-Khalil also held a meeting with Iranian Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ehsan Khandouzi  in which they discussed the adopted procedures and the follow-up works to compete the establishment of a joint Bank and insurance company.

The two sides stressed the importance of the steps and mechanisms in eliminating the difficulties related to money transfers in a way that contribute to developing the economic sector and enhancing trade exchange.

Al-Khalil also met  Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ochi  in which they reviewed the standing cooperation relations between the two countries.

Al-Khalil also held other meetings with large Iranian economic groups willing to invest in Syria in the rebuilding stage.
