Syrian-Tunisian talks to enhance cooperation in transport and agricultural fields

Damascus, SANA- Syria and Tunisia discussed joint cooperation and coordination om air, sea and land transport, as well as activating and developing the agreements signed in the agricultural field.

This came during meetings that brought together Transport Minister Zuhair Khuzaym with Tunisian Ambassador in Damascus, Mohamed al-Mahdhabi, with the transport minister referring to the solidity of relations between the two countries and the need to raise economic and commercial ties to the level of political relations.

The Tunisian ambassador, for his part, conveyed the desire of the Tunisian Ministry of Transport to develop relations and stressed the importance of reactivating the airline between both destinations and activating commercial, economic and tourist activity between the two countries.

Minister of Agriculture, and Agrarian Reform Mohamed Hassan Qatna also met the Tunisian ambassador and discussed the need to review the agreements signed between both parties in the field of agriculture, and reach a clear and comprehensive framework agreement.

Minister Qatna proposed the establishment of a maritime line between Syria and Tunisia for the transport of agricultural products, a common market and giving preferential advantages to facilitate the transport of these products.

The Tunisian ambassador stressed the need to move from general agreements to specialized ones and to speed up their implementation in order to cope with the impacts of previous years.

He pointing out the Tunisian government’s readiness to develop cooperation and exchange products, information, research and expertise.
